Community Housing Association has been ordered to pay £165 to one of its tenants after an expenses dispute.
Central London County Court told CHA to give the money to Tony Turcotte, a member of its tenants’ forum, to cover the cost of printing letters for circulation to tenants.

CHA intends to challenge the judgment. It said: “We advised the court we would defend the claim as it has no basis. We received no further notification about a court date and subsequently did not attend the hearing. CHA has now applied to set aside the judgment so we can appear and defend the claim at a future hearing.”

Turcotte intends to begin a new action for additional expenses that he alleges are outstanding.
