Because of the delay, it will be 2015 before any new Part L buildings get signed off

The delay till April next year of Part L changes (Government drops plan to bring in Part L changes in 2013, www.building.co.uk, 26 July) has been long anticipated.

The worst aspect is that as there [was] no confirmation of required energy targets [before this week’s announcements on Part L], you could not design heating and cooling for a new building. Because of this it will be 2015 before any new Part L buildings get signed off.
