I write with reference to your story “Rogers turned back on project role after design was scrapped” (12 June). This is factually incorrect and I am writing to clarify our position

Despite a previous statement from Qatari Diar fully supporting the Chelsea Barracks scheme, we were informed on 12 June during a telephone conversation that took place between Qatari Diar and Richard Rogers that the application was being withdrawn and other architects were being invited to work on the project. The opportunity to remain as part of the project team was never raised.

We have had no further communication from Qatari Diar, apart from an instruction to stop work. We can only surmise, therefore, that our services are no longer required.
