Olympic marketing rules are relegating construction to a second-class activity
Yet again construction is relegated to being a second-class activity (Mace boss slams Olympic marketing rules, 19 July, www.building.co.uk). How long are we in this vital industry prepared to take such treatment? Just consider what we pay for legal, financial and retail transactions with vast mark-ups and then look at the storm that blows when someone actually manages to make a decent profit from construction, despite the competition and risk. You can always get a builder to do it for less at more risk - try that in the legal/financial world.
