Are these firms that are imposing 5% cuts on their subcontractors (18 January, page 9) unaware of Latham, Egan and approaches such as Lean Construction to improving the efficiency of the supply chain?

How much more reassuring it would be to read of their intention to work with their supply chain to achieve 5% savings by improving efficiency. They would probably achieve more.

This is not difficult, but of course it would require more effort than simply writing a letter.
