Ian Abley’s column got me to challenge my thinking as a proponent of non-adversarial teamworking.
Like Ian, I think we need more confrontation and to take a critical stance, although both need to be directed at the issue and not the person. In my experience, confronting and criticising the person undermines their performance rather than “pushes them to achieve more”.
