I just read your article about Bouygues UK carrying out warm-up exercises on their sites (17 October, page 54).

We have worked with the company several times over the recent years and always found them hard negotiators but the sites were well organised, planned and run. In general they have been a pleasure to work with.

That’s why I now find it such a shame that on recent projects they have tendered their internal packages with lists that comprise more than eight competing companies on a fixed-price, lump sum risk basis. Surely this is not in tune with modern methods of supply-chain management?
