Designers, too, have a great deal to answer for: “If you put a parapet around this roof it will save – for ever – the problems of safe access to it”. “I can’t do that, the planners won’t let me, blah, blah”. Surely the scissors of CDM regulations can cut to shreds the planners’ paperwork? Crikey, it’s 7.30, I must get back to bed ...
