The director of ALL Design reveals the app he’s in awe of and how he keeps up with innovative digital trends
What is your favourite website?
I guess it’s against the ‘digital’ grain to have one favourite, but as a source of news which is what one tends to do in a time-precious life, it would have to be www.fastcodesign.com which is very much about what interests us as ALL Design. Also angel list, to keep track of innovative trends in the digital realm, and buzzfeed.com/tech for an irreverent take on technology.
What is your worst digital habit?
Not turning off the Push Notifications, which I promise myself I will do every single day.
iPhone/Blackberry/Android. Which side are you on?
iPhone, almost a question of loyalty.
Are you into social networking? (Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook etc)
Linkedin because it’s become a part of work life.
Are you on Twitter? No.
What is your favourite app?
Has to be Bump, not only because of the connectivity between devices but because it makes that connection between real life and the digital world everyone is chasing after, and it is so damn physical - I am still in awe!
What is your preferred means of communication? (eg. Email, phone, face to face, text etc)
I would like to say face to face, because it’s true and makes you sound grounded, but the fact is; email is pervasive.
What did you last buy online?
A 3-night stay in Paris via Airbnb.
PC or Mac?
Mac. Been with it since I first used one at college in 1986 - all floppy disks!
Guilty pleasures: Most played tunes from iTunes/Spotify?
No guilt; I love to see my three-year-old sing along to Yellow Submarine.
