The number of convenience stores in UK is on the rise, with the expansion of Tesco Express receiving unprecedented attention.

The onus is on retail developers to ensure buildings are soundproofed, but in spite of this, noise is a growing irritant for residents in adjoining properties, especially as 24/7 operations are becoming more common.

Developers need to control noise levels from the outside in. By laying suitable acoustic flooring, a store’s acoustic performance can be enhanced. Evaluating the required acoustic performance at project outset will curb the number of complaints post-completion.
