This was a really interesting article (The possibilities!, 9 April, page 42) and I was pleased to see collaboration software being discussed from an architectural perspective
Tools like 4Projects are indeed sophisticated and can be used to manage very complex projects spanning continents. However, it is often a misconception that they cannot be used to manage smaller projects and that you end up paying for things you don’t use.
Many clients also successfully use 4Projects in a much more simplistic way with the option to add on more functionality at future dates if needed.
As a highly flexible tool it can be configured to manage anything, from something as simple as a tendering process right through to a complex project throughout its lifespan including asset management.
