I am writing to reassure both your readers and Sarah Wigglesworth (28 February, page 28) that the organisers of The Castleford Project are more than aware of the complexities and timetables of regeneration projects.
I hope that is all that would be expected from a first rate project team that includes Chris Brown of Igloo Regeneration, Ben Denton of ABROS, Mace (Property and Construction Management) and Gleeds (Quantity Surveyors) and is steered by a group that includes Alison Nimmo, formerly chief executive of urban regeneration company Sheffield One, and Peter Rogers of Stanhope plc.

The brief of the project is to deliver the early stages of the longer term regeneration of Castleford. The deadline for small-scale improvements of the town's public realm is driven by the desire of local people to see inspirational and sustainable design happen in their community, and not by the production of any television series.

By the time the TV series is broadcast, many on the project team will have been supporting the project for getting on for three years, by which time we plan to have implemented as much or as little physical regeneration as the town wants or can sustain.
