On 12 May 2006, an article appeared in Building titled "Capita Symonds: two years old, but growing fast".
It incorrectly stated that Capita Symonds pulled out of a light rail design contract in Dubai due to concerns that it would not be paid by Obayashi. This is incorrect. The parties mutually agreed to terminate the contract and Obayashi, a lead member of the JT Metro consortium, was at all times professional and equitable in its dealings with Capita Symonds. Capita Symonds retracts and unreservedly apologises to Obayashi (and the consortium) for the manner in which it was portrayed.
