Over the past 12 months, Building has consistently reported the views of anonymous sources in connection with the relationship between CSCS and CITB-ConstructionSkills.
This has served to damage the reputation of CITB-ConstructionSkills and CSCS and undermine the excellent work being done across the industry to qualify the workforce.
At the instigation of George Brumwell and Sir Michael Latham, CITB-ConstructionSkills and CSCS are currently engaged in highly constructive discussions over our shared vision to qualify the workforce. Despite the extremely sad news of George Brumwell’s death, both boards intend to press ahead as quickly as possible with this work.
Within the space of the next two weeks, CITB-ConstructionSkills is planning to share with the industry details about the relevant schemes to encourage debate on the options for future joint-working between the two organisations.
We hope that the reporting from now on will be professional and constructive. These matters are too important to be hampered by poor press standards; the chance for a fully qualified, professional and safe industry is at stake.
Postscript
