The new technical director for Faber Maunsell’s fire and risk engineering division is an expert on statistical and economic aspects of fire protection. He’ll also assist with business development.

Iain Thayne

Irish-based Fleming Group has appointed Thayne as chief executive of its UK development arm. It is currently expanding and plans to become a significant player in the off-site management sector.

Stephen Bird

Bluestone has named CIOB member Bird as contracts manager for its Chelmsford, Essex, office. He joins Bluestone from Jackson-Construction, where he was construction manager for the public works division.

Phil Leech

Leech joined building services specialist JS Wright in 2006 from Mitie Engineering. He has been promoted from contracts manager to senior contracts manager. He will help build on a 25% increase in orders for 2007.

Joining his colleague (Phil Leech, left) Kevin Sabin has been appointed contracts manager at JS Wright after moving from a similar position with CA Sothers.

Peter Bennett is the City of London Corporation’s new city surveyor. The position dates back to 1478 when Edward Stone was appointed Clerk of the City’s Work. Bennett will take up the role next January.

Dovehouse Interiors has signed up Jean-Paul Warren and John Laing as project managers.

They will both be based in Dovehouse’s London office.
