EC Harris chairman to advise on best practice for 2012 programme
EC Harris boss Richard Clare has joined a taskforce formed to advise on the procurement of the London Olympics.
Clare, who is chairman at the top five QS and project management group, has been named the commercial expert for the Strategic Forum Olympic Task Group, which met for the first time last week. The group is chaired by strategic forum chairman Peter Rogers and also includes contractor Ray O’Rourke, architect Rab Bennetts, lawyer Ann Minogue and engineering expert Rod MacDonald, who is chairman of Buro Happold.
The body will have three main roles:
1) To ensure the early adoption of best practice across Olympic projects
2) To identify and commission research of factors crucial to the delivery of the programme
3) To act as a collective conscience for the industry in achieving the best possible games.
