CIBSE has published the energy and carbon emissions regulation: a guide to implementation (EPBR).
The publication will serve as a companion guide to the various regulations and covers Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), Display Energy Certificates (DECs), the inspection of boilers and inspection of air conditioning systems.
Principal author, Nick Cullen, said in his foreword to the guide: “Buildings account for 40% of the global energy use and in the UK are responsible either directly or indirectly for approximately 50% of national carbon emissions. Government has introduced a variety of measures over the last decade to decrease the carbon footprint of the built environment. This document describes those measures most closely related to design, construction and operation of buildings.”
It is part of a number of new CIBSE titles which aid compliance with Part L of Building Regulations and Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
