Wolverhampton-based Chubb Locks Custodial Services – part of Assa Abloy – has signed two new contracts which will see the company become the single-source supplier for the Prison Services in England and Wales, and in Scotland.

The company has signed a framework contract with both services to manufacture, supply and deliver a range of locking systems for state-controlled prisons throughout Britain.

The five-year contract in England and Wales, with an option for a further three years, will see Chubb Locks Custodial Services supply all 130 government prisons with a range of products including cell locks, pass locks and electrical and mechanical locks.

The three-year deal with Scottish Prison Services will provide products, installation, servicing and training to all 19 state-controlled prisons in Scotland.

Chubb Locks Custodial Services parent company Assa Abloy’s test laboratory has received accreditation from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service to provide standards-based testing on a wide range of products – a first for the architectural hardware industry.
