Richard Childs has resigned as chief executive and company secretary of the Joint Security Industry Council (JSIC).

In an exclusive statement issued to SMT, Childs – a member of the journal’s Editorial Advisory Board – stated: “There are irreconcilable differences between the chairman of JSIC, Richard Flenley (group security manager at Canary Wharf Management), and myself as to the way in which the JSIC honorary chief executive should operate. I had no option but to resign.”

Childs leaves JSIC with a “heavy heart”, but wishes its members well for the future.
