Chichester College’s new teaching facility given green light
Chichester College has been given the green light for a new £6.5m teaching facility on the western edge of the main college campus after the building received planning approval.
The four-storey project was designed by ECE Architecture and is due to start construction imminently. Once complete the facility will offer a full range of vocational courses, including construction in one specialised teaching area. The building will also include flexible teaching and staff accommodation.
The development includes an upgrading of the adjacent River Lavant to increase the natural planting, enhance the ecology along the river banks and provide a delightful new external amenity space for the College.
ECE Project Director Nick Evans said: “We are delighted to have been able to assist Chichester College in the revival of this important project from the remains of the further education funding collapse.
“We work closely with many colleges and this is exactly the success we strive for. Our new Construction Teaching Facility will be an exciting addition to the College’s estate.”
