A PC-based digital CCTV recording system with advanced remote access facilities is helping the Cambridge Building Society monitor activity at each of its 21 branches from a dedicated central station.
The Witness system, supplied by St Albans-based Case Security, controls the Society's entire CCTV surveillance network.
In operation, branches may be monitored via the Society's internal LAN, operating on a dial-in/dial-out basis. Once accessed by a member of the security team, live video images may be monitored and recorded at the central station. They may then be transferred to other branches for reference, or stored on disk for use by the police as part of an investigation or trial in court.
Each camera may be set to record at any image rate, from slow time lapse through to full frame rate. A combination of continuous, scheduled, event-triggered (with pre-event) and 'snapshot' recording is possible.
