Caring circle: Terri Alafat, head of the ODPM homelessness directorate (above) and Debbie Higgins, an outreach worker with Birmingham-based Prime Focus, helped launch the association’s care and support service on 1 July.

The service, Focus Futures, provides accommodation and support to the homeless, people with learning disabilities and those with mental ill health.

Prime Focus has helped 872 rough sleepers and referred 149 people to the drug tenancy support service in the past 12 months.
