Architect joined by four more top employers: Assael, Buro Four, Vinci Construction UK and John Rowan & Partners
Architect Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners has been named construction’s top employer by Building’s Good Employer Guide 2011.
The practice, which judges said stood out as a “top employer in virtually every respect”, was selected from the firms featured in this year’s Guide. The firm was joined in the top five by Assael, Buro Four, Vinci Construction UK and John Rowan & Partners.
Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners was rewarded for the generous benefits it offers employees in key areas such as maternity and paternity arrangements, as well as for measures to ensure it attracts a spread of talented, committed staff at all levels - including fixing its partners’ earnings in proportion to those of the lowest paid qualified architect.
The practice also impressed judges with its policy of donating 20% of its profit to charity each year, which each employee able to direct their share of the distribution.
