Nick Hayes joins from BRE to expand consultant’s green work
EC Harris has hired Nick Hayes to be its head of sustainability. He joins from built environment specialists BRE, where he spent the last two years as international director helping clients around the world deal with sustainability and climate change issues.
Before that, Hayes was director of the firm’s sustainable development group. In his new job he will expand EC Harris’s sustainability work in both the public and privates sectors.
Hayes said: “I am delighted to be joining an organisation with such an excellent reputation. Sustainability has to be at the core of the service we offer to our clients and I look forward to working across the business to ensure that it becomes an integral part of every project we deliver.
I will be working with our clients to help them realise the value of sustainability not only in terms of financial return, but in delivering assets that are places in which people truly want to live, work or operate, ultimately providing enhanced financial benefit.”
Tim Neal, regional leader for Europe at EC Harris, said: “Nick is a global expert in his field and brings with him a huge amount of experience in the sustainability arena. The requirement for sustainability to fit strategically into every aspect of our clients’ business models is growing dramatically.
“Our sustainability practice, under Nick’s leadership, has the track record and expertise to enable our clients to ensure that sustainability is at the core of their strategies and assets.”
