New director for energy consultancy will run Capita’s expanding renewable energy division
Capita Symonds has appointed David Coyne as director for the energy consultancy. He joins the consultant from Perpetual Energy, which he founded in 2004, where he was responsible for developing a £6m turnover business.
At Capita Coyne will be working with a number of local authorities and large commercial clients developing alternative funding options to enable the uptake of renewable energy solutions.
Neil McLocklin, director of consulting and advisory services for Capita Symonds, said: “We’ve appointed David to drive forward our rapidly expanding renewable energy division which offers a range of services for both commercial businesses and public sector organisations.
“Not only do we help client cut energy costs, we are also at the forefront of enabling companies to profit from renewable energy by adopting the best strategy, selecting the optimum technology, and utlising the most appropriate funding options.”

Coyne has a background in finance and large scale business solutions having worked for both IBM and CapGemini.
He said: “The capacity and capability that Capita Symonds brings to help energy strategy is immense. We are looking at solar PV, wind, biomass CHP through to multi-MW biomass power stations as well as large scale urban mixed-use schemes.”
