20 international students to attend Health Design Charette Week at London South University

Architects for Health have selected 20 international students to attend the Health Design Charette Week to be held at London South University later this month.

Student applicants were not required to demonstrate prior healthcare experience. Instead they were judged on the strength of a wider architectural skill, brief engagement and enthusiasm for the topic.

The short course will balance morning lectures and site visits with afternoon tutored and free studio periods. Tutors have been selected from healthcare design practitioners, and experienced architectural tutors from London universities.

The main topic will be centred around designing for paediatric care in the urban context. The organisers will contribute to travel and accommodation for students.

The event is supported by Mace and is jointly hosted with The Medical Architecture Research Unit, London South Bank University and the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

It will be held from 24 to 27 January 2012. For more visit Architects for Health Student Awards.
