Your editorial “Play the safety card” (CM, Sept) stated: “From 1 October this year all tradespeople must have an appropriate card...” This is a misleading half-truth.

It is CSCS and MCG policy for ALL those based on, or visiting, sites to have cards – from the contracts driectors to the operatives. CIOB pioneered the professional routes to cards for MCIOB members, and this needs publicising. Site safety is the business of everyone, not just the tradespeople.
