Engineers and architects will be able to compare the energy consumption of their designs with similar schemes under an initiative from CIBSE and RIBA, called CarbonBuzz.
The cross-disciplinary platform, due to be launched on 5 November, has been developed by architects and engineers to benchmark and track project energy use from design to operation.
The aim of the project is to create a sector-by-sector monitor of UK buildings’ energy use and to provide CIBSE and RIBA with a recognised framework for “carbon-conscious” practice.
All of the data submitted will be handled anonymously unless the originators agree that the full details can be released.
