Mitsubishi Electric has launched a VRF heat pump boiler that it claims can dramatically reduce CO2 emissions compared to traditional boiler plant.

Suitable for domestic water heating and underfloor heating and cooling in homes, the PQYF VRF heat pump boiler comes in two heating capacities – 14 kW and 25 kW – and can be used in either heat pump or heat pump with heat recovery mode. In the heat pump application the system supplies hot water at 45°C that is suitable for use with underfloor heating systems. To supply the 65°C storage temperature necessary for sanitary water, a small electric boost heater has been integrated into the storage tank. In heat recovery mode, the unit heats water with the energy extracted from the cooling of the building.
