The ODPM has given Dartford council £3m to acquire land for its town-centre regeneration.
The funds will also be used to improve public areas, such as the town’s Central Park.
The £94m regeneration (pictured) will include a new supermarket, small shops and about 500 homes, of which 150 will be affordable.
Kenneth Leadbeater, leader of the renewal project, said:
“I am confident that local communities will see significant benefits from this money.”
