Hopkins Architects’ design is intended to reinvigorate the University of East London’s campus
Newham council has given planning permission, subject to agreeing a section 106 agreement, for Hopkins Architects’ New Stratford Campus Library. The three-storey, 4,000m2 building, which will include space for 130,000 books, is intended to reinvigorate the University of East London’s Stratford campus and will achieve a BREEAM excellent rating. Aecom is the M&E consultants, with project management by King Sturge and cost consultancy by Turner & Townsend. Construction is expected to start this autumn, with a planned opening in early 2013.
