Marley Plumbing and Drainage has extended its soil and waste product range with the addition of a plastic system called Akatherm. The system is made from high density polyethylene and the company says it is a highly durable alternative to cast iron, so is suitable for schools, hospitals, hotels and residential buildings. The company says the system is suitable for temperatures from -40ºC to 100ºC. The system is available in diameters from 40mm to 315mm in a range of configurations. The system can be jointed using pushfit sockets, butt welding and electrofusion, making it quicker to install than cast iron. The system is also available prefabricated.
