Shares will cost £1200/y each, with the minimum commitment being one share per year for a period of two years. There is no set maximum for share ownership. Shares bought do not have to be committed within the same year, but can be held over for projects in future years.
A shareholder can take full partnership in one or more BSRIA technical research projects each year. On selection of a project, a company must allocate one share to it for each year the research will last; the majority of BSRIA research projects last two years.
Benefits offered to subscribers include internet access to the full set of research project notes and the chance to spread the cost of research involvement over a longer budget period.
Current projects include the use of prefabricated modules at the Stansted Airport terminal extension. This scheme proved that massive reductions in m&e installation times are possible using the approach.
