Five window manufacturers have so far registered for the new Window Energy Ratings Scheme with the British Fenestration Council: The latest, Speed Frame, has achieved a B rating with its standard window range: Kommerling Platinum Palette Collection frame, Argon filled IGUs with Pilkington K glass and Kommerling TPS spacer.

At the time of going to press, the new Building Regulations Approved Document L was not published. The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister is now working to a programme to introduce amendments at the end of 2005, and is aiming to upload 'interim drafts' of the revised Approved Docs onto the ODPM website in August ‘05. An April 2006 implemention date now looks more likely (previously Jan 2005).
