David Brown has joined Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) as national director, to help build up the firm’s project management capabilities.
Brown, a qualified QS, joins from project management specialist Trench Farrow.
JLL has just won a PM role on a £25m new build and fit-out project for Microsoft in Reading. The firm is also working on a fit out-job for Bank of America in Canary Warf.
Brown will lead JLL’s 30-strong PM department and report to Mike Tiplady, European director.
“JLL’s intent is to grow the project management department to service other parts of this business, for instance tenants who are looking for new properties,” said Brown. “This is definitely a trend. Most of the large property related firms, such as CB Richard Ellis and Drivers Jonas, are taking on project managers.”
JLL’s PM department is poised to hire at least two further team members. Brown was at Trench Farrow for a year and a half, where he was a project manager responsible for winning work. His clients there included Deloitte & Touche. Prior to that he was at AYH, Arup and Burke Hunter Brown, which he helped to found.
