UK SECURITY COMPANIES ARE TAKING advantage of increasingly strong demand for security equipment and services internationally.
Dedicated Micros has opened a new Paris office to support its aggressive European sales drive. Dedicated Micros France opened for business in March and is jointly headed by Jamel Jebari, account manager for France and Switzerland and Charles-Michel Gongora, account manager for Spain, Italy and Portugal.The new team of five sales and technical staff will be offering sales and pre-sales support, customer services and technical support to installers, distributors and users.
This new office complements the existing sales-order processing and repair services offered via DM's European HQ in Germany.
Systemteq has received international orders worth more than £400,000 from major players in the hotel industry in the Middle East, with assistance from UK Trade & Investment, the government organisation that provides support services for UK companies trading overseas. Systemteq designs and manufactures the 'ultimate controller', an integrated control system for hotel and domestic premises that controls lighting, temperature, access, security and even the television from a single remote control unit.
Nortech Control Systems has appointed two new distributors, Northwood Technology in the Republic of Ireland and Emirtec in Dubai, UAE and the Middle East. The expansion strategy of the access control manufacturer will see exports increase by more than 30 per cent by the end of 2005, positioning Nortech as a major international player in its field.
Tavcom Training has responded to an invitation from Emirates Group Security and its Middle East associate Transguard Solutions to collaborate in a rolling programme of security systems training courses in Dubai, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Tavcom's three-day Foundation CCTV course was presented at the New Emirates Aviation College in Dubai. The course was timely, as 2,000 CCTV cameras are shortly to be installed at the Dubai international airport. Tavcom's director of training Mike Tennent was delighted with the success of the venture.
