Alex Macnair, who works for Trilectric in Middlesex, has been named as the ECA Edmundson Apprentice of the Year.

Macnair fought off around 1000 other hopefuls to win the coveted title, which Edmundson Electrical sponsors in partnership with the ECA.

The award, which was presented by Douglas McNair, managing director of Edmundson Electrical, is considered an outstanding achievement for trainees within the electrical industry.

Macnair and the regional award winners were announced at a special ceremony, held at Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington on 18 July.
