Bridging the gap: Peabody Trust and developer Urban Space Management have put forward plans to build an inhabited bridge over the mouth of the River Lea in east London.
If the scheme gets the go-ahead then a 92 home, 10-storey bridge would help to regenerate the area.
Half of the flats on the inhabited bridge would be affordable in order to house key workers.
Flats would be prefabricated and craned into place, enabling each to be half the weight of a conventionally built house.
