Bosch Security Systems has won Frost & Sullivan's Market Penetration Award for 2003 for its gains in market share, innovative new products and successful strategies for marketing and sales.
The assessments were made on the basis of the company's performance during the past three years, during which time, Bosch made two major acquisitions in the intruder alarms sector and CCTV, Communications and PA sector.

Bosch Security Systems acquired Detection Systems Inc., a global supplier of intruder alarms based in New York in 2001. At the end of 2002, it acquired Philips CSI, formerly the CCTV and Communications Systems division of the Philips Group in Eindhoven. The latter acquisition enabled it to become a leading global player in CCTV and PA systems and gave the company additional production locations and established sales channels in the video surveillance market, which is considered to have the greatest growth potential in the security systems industry.

These channels had been developed by Philips over many years. The facilities enabled Bosch to provide fully integrated systems combining security, fire, PA, evacuation and communications facilities as part of a complete building management system.
