Bosch Power Tools is hoping to take hold of the screwdriver bit market with the launch of its innovative Maxgrip range.
Maxgrip provides the grip of diamond with the strength, cost and lifetime of titanium. Bosch has created a special roughness on the bit and then coated the surface with titanium-nitride giving the bit the ultimate grip combined with extremely long lifetime.

Tests, measuring the frequency that a bit will slip from a screw versus lifetime of the bit, were conducted using diamond, titanium and Maxgrip bits. Bosch announces that the Maxgrip was rated as having the best grip and lasting the longest, making it ideal for high-usage over long periods of time.

Tradesmen can reduce the amount of time spent replacing bits and their screws will stay firmly in place during use. Maxgrip gives a longer lifetime, an increased resistance against premature breaking and it is universally applicable. Bosch developed the new bit following research with professional tradesmen who used screwdrivers on a regular basis.

Bosch Maxgrip bits are available from April 2004 in mixed and individual sets and also come in handy small flip-top boxes.
