A new mini panel board from Moeller has helped enable the early completion of Alcotrol Laboratories’ new Langley laboratory with lower than expected costs.
Shrewsbury-based contractor Fisher Electrical selected the Mini Panel Board as it can meet the required 100 A outgoing supply, was simple to install and could be designed to match the client’s needs.

The board will feed power for the laboratory equipment, analytical equipment and fans in a 280 m2 area split over two floors. It is configured for a 250 A, three-phase incomer, metering and outgoing four 100 A, three-phase, plus single, 60 A and 10 A sub-mains.

The alternative market products available would mean using two boards, an mcb and a larger mccb. Completion of the installation from order took under three days, with a day’s labour saved compared to building and installing a standard mccb panel board. Time was saved as building the board only requires simple clipping in of mcbs.
