The construction industry could soon be flooded with innovations thanks to a link up between BRE and one of the UK's best-known inventors.

Trevor Baylis, the man behind the clockwork radio, also owns Trevor Baylis Brands (TBB), a company set up to help inventors get their ideas to market.

Baylis said: "I believe that there is an invention in everyone, but none of us has all the skills needed to bring a product to market.

We have people coming to us with ideas that the construction industry would be interested in so having BRE behind us means we can use their expertise to make these ideas work."

The joint venture will mean that construction-related ideas and technologies proposed to TBB will undergo testing and development by BRE's industry experts. The BRE's intellectual property exchange will give subscribers to the scheme the chance to review the ideas while the inventors' ownership rights remain protected.

TBB also has a website (link below), where details of all the construction ideas being developed will be available.
