Progressive client British American Tobacco (BAT) is organising a seminar aimed at harnessing the goals and ambitions of security professionals including security supervisors, site managers and deputy security managers.
To be held in London on 21 January next year, the seminar – entitled 'A Career in the Security Industry' – aims to offer all those practitioners who attend some genuine perspective on how they might develop their careers in the security sector.

How is the industry transforming into a genuine career choice, and how might it attract talented individuals in the future? These are just a couple of questions that will be answered on the day.

The event (to be opened by David Burrill, BAT's head of group security) is being supported by David Dickinson – chief executive of the BSIA – and SITO director and general manager Stefan Hay, both of whom will discuss the ways in which Security Industry Authority licensing will generate greater public confidence in security officers, and enable the wider police community to work more closely and confidently as a unit.

SSR Personnel director Del Hunter will also be on hand to evaluate the skills needed to ascend the careers ladder. Within the field of recruitment, Del is tasked with finding individuals who match the demands of corporate clients throughout the country. Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity for security professionals to gain an insight into which aptitudes and qualifications are high on the 'wish list' of today's client base.

Spaces at the seminar are strictly limited, and will be allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis. If you'd like to attend – or simply want some more information – please contact Richard Steel at BAT via e-mail at: richard_steel@bat.com
