Calvin Avery, systems sales manager at ADT Fire and Security's City of London branch, has received an award for Innovation in Sales at the 2003 National Sales Awards organised by the Instititute of Professional Sales (IPS).
Calvin is the first ADT employee to receive such an award which recognises new ideas and developments within sales.

Calvin brought a new approach to sales by focussing on being more design led.

He said: "We took on more system designers, got the design team involved with projects prior to the system being sold and allowed them to put a major project together independently of the sales team. This allowed the sales team to be more pro-active in front of the customers."

The new approach has made ADT more professional as an organisation and brought it closer to its clients.
