James Wimpenny

After 21 years with the company, Wimpenny has made it to the top – he’s now regional director for the north east and has also been appointed a director of HBG Construction. Based in Birstall, West Yorkshire, he will head up all construction activity in the region and build on the £171m turnover generated in 2006.

Bob Wilson

Wilson had enjoyed various senior positions at a number of big housebuilders before being named as the new commercial director for Allison Homes, part of Kier Group. Wilson, who will be based at Spalding in Lincolnshire, says the land secured by Kier for development will allow Allison Homes to secure its future growth.

Bill Danks

Danks, Midas Homes’ newest building manager, is joining three others in the production team. With more than 31 years’ experience in the construction industry, Danks comes to Midas Homes from Wain Homes, where he spent eight years working as a contracts manager. Bill has also worked for Barratt Homes, Costain Homes, Canberra Homes, and he ran his own building company for four years.

Chris Saxton

Saxton has been appointed as Morris & Spottiswood’s new managing director. He joins the firm from construction company Rok where he was executive director of its northern division. He has also held senior management posts at construction companies Bluestone, Interior Services Group and Jarvis.

Cala Management’s new director is Alan Brown, a company man for the past two decades. He will focus on strategic issues for the Scottish developer’s expanding English operations.

Teresa Jolley will specialise in community regeneration initiatives for Kier Building Maintenance following her appointment as organisational development manager for its Midlands operations.

Envelope specialist Schüco has named James Whitehouse as architectural project manager for the West Midlands and Greater Manchester. Whitehouse will promote Schüco systems and its technical design team to main contractors and architects.

PCE has made two appointments as it launches a design office as part of a strategy to become a turnkey contractor in the design, supply and installation of off-site manufactured construction systems. George Tootell, has joined the company as design and development director while Stephen Craig also joins the board as a non-executive director.

Bluestone has appointed Gren Phillips as contracts manager for its special works team, based at its Fareham office. Phillips joins from Bramshill Police College in Hook, Hampshire, where he was projects manager.
