Phil Wring has been appointed sales manager for CCTV in the UK by JVC Professional Europe. He will now work closely with both existing and new clients, focusing on the further development of IP-related applications for end users. Previously, Phil served as CCTV divisional manager at Optex.


Intrepid Security Solutions the EAS and CCTV solutions specialist has appointed a new sales director. Harry Manku has worked within the electronic security industry for over a decade, and has an excellent track record of promoting EAS and CCTV systems to end users in the retail sector. Manku’s clients will now include Armani, B&Q, Jaeger, River Island and Tesco.




Peter Currie has joined intelligent video recording and surveillance concern Vigilant Technology as business development manager. Peter whose career within the electronic security industry spans over 20 years has worked for installers and manufacturers, including a seven-year spell at Initial (Shorrock Security) where he was chief engineer. More recently, Peter spent seven years with Petards, serving the CCTV specialist as new business sales manager.


Dedicated Micros (part of the AD Group of companies) has appointed Andrew Finn as managing director with responsibility for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Also Group finance director at the AD Group, Andrew joined the company in 1998 as UK financial controller, and was promoted to Group financial controller in less than 12 months. Previously, he worked for GEC Alstom.


Wessex Fire & Security’s new head of business development for large-scale integrated security packages is Tony Wheat. He joins the senior management team from Meggitt Marsh Guardian Systems, where he held the role of director. Tony’s appointment will help in taking the business “to the next level” by securing contracts with local Government and town centre security schemes where integrated fire alarm, access control and CCTV systems are desired.

Vision Fire & Security has appointed Shane Lewis as its director of sales (fire systems) for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Shane has spent the past five years managing the company’s fire protection and prevention systems business across the Asia Pacific region.


Independent security consultant SGW Associates has announced the appointment of Richard King as security systems consultant. Having gained experience at the Quadrant Security Group, Westinghouse Electronics and The White Group, Richard’s new role will encompass the independent design and project engineering of electronic and physical security and surveillance systems on behalf of the company’s corporate and public sector client base.


HID Global – a leading solutions provider in the access control sector has just appointed Tony Smith as regional sales manager for the UK (South). Reporting to Melissa Jenkins (director of sales across the UK and Ireland), Tony previously worked for TDSI as its UK sales manager and is well versed in card-based systems (including access control, cashless payment and vending). Tony is joined at HID Global by John Laws, recently appointed as regional sales manager for the UK (North). John has had successful tenures at Honeywell, ADT and Secom.


Sean Darker has taken on the position of sales manager at Milton Keynes-based CCTV manufacturer Merit Li-Lin. Sean joins having gained more than 20 years’ sales experience within the banking, IT software and training sectors. Prior to joining Merit Li-Lin, Sean worked in new business roles (originally for the HDFC Bank) before moving into the ‘emerging markets’ sphere and a managerial post at Bank Muscat.

Steve Devlin has joined Raytec – the specialist developer of lighting solutions for CCTV projects – as field sales engineer. Steve will take charge of ‘Raytec on the Road’, training installers, specifiers and end users on the company’s illuminator systems. Steve has been involved with the UK security industry for over three decades, and will now provide Raytec’s ‘Free Lighting Survey’.


Secureseal has boosted its management team with the appointment of John Morrison as product manager for the company’s fleet management solutions division. Morrison brings 25 years of experience in business development to the role, gained by spells working in the IT and telecommunications sectors.

Axis Communications – a global leader in the field of networked video welcomes Simon Cook to the position of sales engineer, responsible for delivering Axis Training Academy programmes and for the management of the Axis Academy in both the UK and Ireland. Simon will also be working closely with Axis’ reseller partners to help them specify the correct products for customers’ installations. Simon joins from communications integrator Affiniti, where he worked for two years as a pre-sales solutions consultant.


Tim Cronin is the new sales director at ID Data, one of Europe’s leading independent plastic card solutions networks with full Mastercard and Visa accreditation. Tim joins from Strontium plc and Orga Card Systems (UK), where he served as managing director specialising in global business development and major account management. ID’s customers include Tesco, Nectar and IDS.
