T&T energy expert back in the UK



Turner & Townsend’s Chris Stops has returned from the US to the UK. He will take up the job of regional director for Europe in the energy division in Edinburgh. Stops spent the last four years working in the Houston office.

Stops is an engineer with project controls expertise in the oil and gas sector. His career highlights include being project control functional lead for the BP Atlantis deepwater scheme in the Gulf of Mexico. As part of his new role, he will act as the European chairman for the joint industry initiative Performance Forum, which will provide performance measurement and benchmarking to 13 of the world’s oil and gas operators.

DBK recruits Orange Network man


DBK Back has appointed Patrick McCourt as senior project manager. He joins from Orange Network, where he spent nine years on the development team. McCourt is a QS and spent eight years with Bucknall Austin. His first assignments at DBK include a data centre in Croydon for Sentrum, a £40m mixed use redevelopment project in Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield for Castlemore’s residential arm Spring and the £8m Phoenix Park project in Longton, Stoke on Trent for St Modwen.

CMPB’s new head for Manchester


CM Parker Browne has drafted in Paul Campos from New Zealand to run its Manchester office. Campos has 30 years experience in the construction industry, including a stint running his own QS firm. He will focus on CMPB's work on educational academies for United Learning Trust. His first task is to advise on the £27m Stockport Academy, which is to accommodate 1,150 pupils and replace Avondale High School. The Manchester office was set up in 2005.
