Buro Happold has made a key appointment in its specialist consulting group. Consultant Mark Whitaker - an explosives engineer - will be analysing clients' projects, assessing where security issues might arise and mitigating risks through façade and atria design, etc, and the use of counter-measures including CCTV and access control.

Frontline Security Solutions - the Chalfont St Peters-based specialist in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems - has appointed Peter Goodenough as sales and marketing director. Peter joins from Hi-Sec International, where he was md.

Romec (Electronic Security and Fire) has beefed up its sales and account management team with a number of key appointments. Malcolm Steadman is the new external sales manager, having worked in the security sector since 1993 across sales and account management roles. Malcolm is joined by Peter Amey (the company's new national account manager) and Stuart Strange (regional sales executive), who will concentrate on clients in the south east of England.

Mark Robinson has been promoted to national sales manager for Group 4 Technology's Electronic Security Systems Group. Mark will be responsible for all sales initiatives and staff across the UK operation, reporting to divisional director Jim Clarkson.

Access control solutions provider Bewator has appointed Paul Hannah as its area sales manager for the south east of England and Tony Ashton as technical support engineer for video control. Hannah brings five years' experience to Bewator, having worked as an account manager and team leader and, for the past eight months, as the European sales manager for a leading ANPR systems developer. Ashton boasts technical support experience within the CCTV arena.

Corinna Head has joined security training concern Train 4 Security as its training consultant. Corinna's remit at the Droitwich-based company is to develop new training programmes for the industry while improving current learning materials.

BPT Security Systems - the electronic access control and door entry systems provider - has appointed ‘returnee' Peter Walsh as regional manager for the north of England. Peter was previously at Norbain (a BPT distributor) where he was business development manager of the CCD Division.

Surveillance and CCTV specialist Cyberline Communications has added to its team with the appointment of Mark Anderton as after-sales manager (with direct line responsibility for the company's client services operation). Recently, Mark has managed projects with Evobus and Look CCTV.

Award-winning Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) transmission specialist Network Video Technologies (NVT) has appointed Phil Melham as its logistics and distribution manager. Phil's role will see him supporting NVT's UK and European sales network to ensure the seamless product-to-customer deployment for the company's comprehensive range of UTP video transmission equipment.

Anoushka Badham and Stuart Hopkins have been appointed by cash management company Volumatic Omal as marketing assistants. Anoushka, who holds a BA (Hons) degree in business and marketing, joins straight from Northampton University. Armed with a CIM Diploma in marketing, Stuart has worked in marketing roles for both TMP Worldwide and the National Grid.

BPT Automation has appointed Paul Dobson to the position of sales director. Paul is more than familiar with BPT Automation, having worked at sister company BPT Security Systems for 12 years (eight of them as UK sales manager). The move results from the two companies' sales and marketing activities being combined into one efficient unit.

Roger Saunt has been appointed AV and CCTV hardware sales manager at Venue Solutions Holdings, the dedicated provider of venue management technologies. Roger is set to concentrate on the sale of Sony AVIT and Ipela (video- conferencing and IP CCTV) products into venues including arenas, stadiums, retail outlets and shopping centres. He was previously business manager at Martin Dawes Solutions.
