Solutions provider Initial Security has appointed Richard Moule as its UK managing director. Richard joins from Rentokil Initial plc Management Services, where he was the driving force behind the development of packaged solutions spanning the company’s catering, security and cleaning operations. A graduate in hotel management, Richard joined Rentokil Initial in 2004.
The directors of Reliance Security Services and Reliance Secure Task Management have announced that Sir Anthony Burden QPM will be the Group’s deputy chairman with effect from 1 October. Sir Anthony has spent his career in the police service and was chief constable of South Wales Police from 1996 until his retirement in 2003. He was elected president of ACPO for 2000-2001, and has served on the Morris Inquiry Committee looking at standards within the Metropolitan Police Service. Sir Anthony received the Queen’s Police Medal in 1995.
BOSS (British Oil Security Syndicate) – the independent oil industry trade association that campaigns to reduce crime at Britain’s petrol stations, and which represents over 6,500 petrol station retailers – has appointed Jim Doxey as its regional co-ordinator for the Midlands and East Anglia. Jim will now oversee the expansion of the already successful Warwickshire Forecourt Scheme into the Nuneaton and Rugby districts.
Security guarding and loss prevention specialist Lodge Service (UK) has appointed Paul Spiteri to the post of UK operations director. Paul joins the company having worked for Group 4 Securicor and Cadbury Schweppes, and will report directly to managing director Stuart Lodge. Paul is now tasked with increasing the company’s market share across the retail and leisure sectors, and will be based at Lodge Service’s hq in Whetstone, north London.
A promotion for Tamir Ginat to the position of president of Nice Systems for Europe, the Middle East and Africa will see him cement senior management skills honed during the past 15 years. Ginat has spent the past decade at Nice, most recently as general manager for the UK operation. Prior to that, he held the position of international sales director for south east Asia. Ginat holds a BA (Hons) in economics and business from the University of Haifa and an MBA in business administration gained at Heriot Watt University.
Russell Woolsey is the next sales manager for biometrics at document and personal identity systems specialist TSSI Systems. Woolsey holds a degree in electronic engineering. Meantime, John Perrott – who has over 20 years’ experience in the identity and access markets – joins the company’s identification systems division as sales manager for credentialing systems. John will focus on business development in new vertical markets for TSSI’s smart card authentication systems.
David Hey of Cafco International has been elected chairman of the Association for Specialist Fire Protection, the trade body responsible for the UK’s passive fire protection industry. The Association’s new vice-chairman is Andrew Kay of Hilti. Hey brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the role, with over 30 years’ experience gained in the international building materials sector. He has formerly held positions at Cape and Pilkington. Hey replaces Clive Atkins of Fire Protection Coatings.
The Board of Directors at SMP Security – the specialist safe manufacturer – has announced the appointment of Paul Skitt as the company’s managing director. Paul has worked at SMP Security for over 27 years now, gaining knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the manufacture, delivery and installation of cash safes. He attained the post of sales/joint managing director at SMP in 1995.
The latest high flyer to arrive at Dowshu – the digital recording solutions provider – is Hamish Scott. Appointed the company’s new sales manager, Hamish has spent the past 14 years working for Norbain, the Network Video Centre and Vision Link. In addition, Jim Daly is heading up the technical team. He has a broad background in both sales and technical roles, while his expertise gained in the computer industry is going to be a great asset given that DVRs have become increasingly software and network-driven.
ADI International has appointed Mark Elligott as the company’s external sales account manager. Mark, who previously worked at Honeywell Video Controls for over six years, will assume responsibility for external sales in the West Midlands and South West regions of the UK. The appointment completes Phase One of ADI’s expansion plans for the southern region.
Swift-Find – the global, online, real-time registry of valuables – has a new head of operations (Henry Boyden) and a new sales director in the shape of Alexandra Smith. Henry has previously held a variety of senior management positions and led significant consultancy projects in many of the stakeholder industries in which Swift-Find is presently active (including insurance, retail, online and traditional auctions as well as financial services). Over the past 12 years, Alexandra has served The Art Loss Register as both project manager and high-end auction house subs manager.
Utimaco Safeware – a leader in the field of securing mobile data – has appointed John Elgar as channel partners manager. John’s key role will be to oversee the development of the company’s various channel relationships. He joins from Trend Micro.
Audiotel International has appointed Peter Crussell and Paul Hughes as commercial manager and executive chairman respectively. Peter brings a proven track record to his position, having been a sales and marketing director at Bewator Cotag and also serving as export director for the Bewator Group.
