BDP promotes QS

Building Design Partnership has promoted QS John Lynch from business director to company director. Based in the firm’s Belfast office, Lynch will also be responsible for job/project management.

His previous work includes projects such as Musgrave Park Hospital, Drumglass School, Craigavon Hospital, Seagate Technologies and Belfast City Airport. He was appointed director in 1998.

EC Harris Spanish boost

Mike Pearce has been promoted from partner to senior European partner in Poland office, where he ran the firm’s Central European office. He joins the Madrid office, where he will work on retail, leisure and office schemes.

Marcus Uttley joins EC Harris from ING Real Estate as senior manager for the property sector in Spain.

Willmott Dixon nurtures QSs

Willmott Dixon has six new quantity surveying management trainees.

Nishan Yasaratna and John Oduegwu are QS graduates and will take the company’s two-year post-graduate management scheme while the others arrive from college and will be sponsored by the company over four years to obtain a degree in quantity surveying. Chrissie Chadney, head of HR at Willmott Dixon said, “The market has never been more competitive for experienced QSs and training our own remains one of the most effective ways to ensure we have the right surveying skills within the business.”

F&G: three new directors

Faithful & Gould has promoted three of its regional directors to company directors: Donal O’Leary, in the London office, will focus on the firm’s property, healthcare and PFI sectors.

Steve Mort, based in Altrincham and Manchester, will concentrate on property in his new role.

Niall Sloan, who has run the company’s Cardiff and Swansea office for the last four years, will continue to specialise in framework agreements.
